Travis Garrison — Student Athlete Advisor, Mentor & Former Pro Basketball Player

The Crossover:

A Bridge from Court to Life for Student Athletes

Travis Garrison — Former DeMatha HS, UMD Terp, + Professional Basketball Player, Think First Global Founder & CEO

Consider an experienced mentor to support and empower student athletes who are facing immense pressures both on and off the court.

While elite athletes are being offered record-breaking NIL deals and seeing large income potential at incredibly young ages in exchange for or their talent on the court, they are often not trained or prepared for the enormous off-court pressures that coincide and may impact their well-being.

Character coaches and team psychologists are stepping in to help some athletes, but may not have had the first-hand experiences of the new family and peer pressures, social expectations (partying, romance), financial responsibilities, and more that come with a high-profile status.

Why Travis Garrison?

Travis is a well-decorated, former professional athlete that has experienced what can happen when raw talent meets attention, expectations, and pressures without adequate emotional support.

A poor choice that he made while at UMD resulted in his losing out on opportunities with 6 NBA teams, has made him acutely aware of realities that not many have been faced with.

He is a trusted confidante who has “been there” and can provide practical guidance to situations that can too easily result in numbing, binging, and toxic behavior that harms careers, relationships, and futures.
